The first time I laid eyes on the Gun Tote’n Mamas Slim X-Body concealed carry handbag, there was an instant attraction. Then a Cabela’s sale ad featuring this exact purse arrived in our mailbox and I surmised that . . . it was just meant to be. Let me begin this love story by sharing everything that I adore about it.

WHAT I DON’T LOVE

- The strap is super durable, but not super comfortable for long periods of time. I wish that it was a little wider or more padded, since a packed purse can start feeling heavy after awhile. This was not really an issue when I wore it over my comfy winter jacket, however.
- There’s no lock option. (Update: Since I have small kids, I thought I’d prefer an option to lock the purse. But using my pistol’s trigger lock feature is just as easy to use for the small number of instances that I do actually need to lock it.)
BOTTOM LINE
This Gun Tote’n Mamas concealed carry handbag is just about everything I could ask for in a gun-friendly purse. Because it’s both stylish and comfortable, I don’t feel like I have to switch it out if I wear a more dressy outfit. While it’s a bit heavier than I’d like, I’ll take high-quality leather and accents over cheaper, lighter materials any day. Plus, it keeps me from throwing everything under the sun in there. I have a feeling that this purse will be a fabulous, protective companion for years to come.
