Today God brushed away the clouds and snow-filled clouds with his mighty arm and pointed the sun directly at our small valley.
Even with single-digit temps outside, it’s no longer the blizzardy grey that it was, and the brightness and warmth that hit our faces was the tangible version of hope and happiness.
It reminded me of this past hunting season when my husband were waking hours before sunrise and opting for the steeper trek up the mountain in order to reach “our spot” by first shooting light. I’ll be honest: Even with a headlamp, I was tripping over twigs and straining my eyes while trying to keep one foot going in front of the other—trippin’ with myself as I struggled to push through the morning grogginess and get my body to move. But when we finally summitted and the sun gradually lightened the sky and became poetry . . . Oh, the relief.
Friend, if you’re climbing out of a dark spot today,
If you feel like you don’t have it in you
If you can’t yet see the light
If your spirit is tired or your body is weak,
This is for you:
Just. Keep. Climbing.
